The Contrary Cowgirl
Claudia Conger, The Contrary Cowgirl

Born and raised in the west, Claudia Conger spent her early years listening to the vivid stories of her grandfather, a World War II Navy Veteran. He made his living as a welder but loved raising and racing his Thoroughbred horses. Claudia spent summers with her family fishing on the Madison, Beaverhead and Big Hole Rivers in Montana. When not fishing she was cavorting all over the Northwest showing her horses or skiing. She remembers the great stories of everyday life spun by her grandparents. Tales of tragedy and triumph filled with love and peppered with laughter. As role models, they lived each day to its fullest and encouraged her to embrace all life had to offer.

Claudia has never looked back. Her love of skiing led her to a life on the road as a skiwear representative in the Pacific Northwest. A random meeting on the ski hill took her into the fast-paced world of technology as a major account executive. She has taught skiing, shown hunter-jumpers and competed in rodeos throughout the U.S. and Canada. One thing never changed, and that is her love of the written word and her delightfully wicked sense of humor. When all of these elements are combined, the result is known as “The Contrary Cowgirl.”

Claudia actively breakaway and team ropes. Please say hello if you cross paths!

Her novel, Bad Draw, will be available Spring 2014. This is the first in a series of four suspense novels based on love, life and murder on route to Las Vegas and a world championship.

"Claudia's dark humor and sense of suspense are infectious", said one  reader, "Once you read her you want more, more and more".
